I can't stand the random black lines. 7 series is wrecked by them.

I've never been a fan of the look of any of them, but then I'm not a fan of the look of most Japanese cars. My main issue with this new ES is that it seems they are trying to make it look sporty in typical Japanese style with crazy accents, sharp edges etc, but to me the ES is not and should not be sporty. It's a luxury land yacht and I think it should look more like that.

As much as I don't care for Lexus exterior design, I hate the interiors even more and I think this new one is the ONLY Lexus interior I don't hate since ever.

I agree. Hopefully this is some kind of sport trim and when it's actually out they will over a version with those lines in body color.

Yep.
Also, it looks like they jumped on the "sh*tting brake" (aka semi-wagon) style just after the Germans tried it, figured out it was a mistake, and have since abandoned it.
Honda made the same mistake with Accord and tanked that model's sales by more than 1/2 since 2023.

I actually kinda like the other two cars sitting next to that ES seppuku.
I don't know what that grey coupe is, but it looks very sleek. Almost too cool to be a Lexus - a prototype?
The white SUV looks like an RZ - one of the better looking and cleaner Lexus designs out there.

IMHO,

The dimensions seem identical to the current Toyota Crown (US market) which is also ungainly tall for a sedan.

I guess I'm one of the few dodos who likes Lexus vehicles to a certain extent.

The current/previous Lexus ES is an excellent buy. Both the hybrid and V6 are attractive as far as a reliable and comfortable commuter.

Lexus/Toyota vehicles are not for everyone, just like any other make and model. Hopefully they can keep the price point the same/similar to the current ES.

To this day, every time I see a G80 or G82 from the rear, I think it's a Lexus at first. BMW totally ripped 'em off.

Which ones? Just curious I can think of a handful of good designs.

I'm assuming he's going to say the LFA and LC500.

Yeah and who could argue with that? Just curious.

I also really liked the RCF, ISF, and tbh the old IS350 was pretty good looking despite its weird tail lights. IS500 wasn't bad but suffered from the oversize grille of today..

I think those are still less than 25yo.

I certainly wouldn't argue with those. I've owned a few Lexus IS's and have always thought each generation was good looking (including the current). The RC line as well is a nice looking coupe and one of my favorites was the GS-F. I'd buy one today if they weren't still fetching pretty high prices.

I've given serious thought of buying RCF Final Edition before it goes EOL.
Great sounding 472-horsepower naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V8 engine.
Just don't need a 2-door right now.

The only ones I like are the LC and IS500. The SUV's are hideous, especially the new EV's.
