Lot of patience and a heat gun to align and stretch and push the air bubbles out.

My father just bought a new Audi, possibly my parents last new car purchase ever and I've been considering "gifting" him with a PPF kit and am exploring various options.
Thanks. I think this is one that I figured a few may have attempted to install themselves based on the cost to have it professionally installed. I figured there's gonna be a few diehards out there and indeed there are. Now for me, the question is do I attempt this on my brand new spanking M3? Or, do i play around with my wife's jeep Rubicon as a mule. The bigger question is prep. I'm no pro at paint correction nor have I ever done more than a simple wash and wax, so this just might stall me from attempting a ppf install myself.

Oh yeah, learn on the Jeep. But talk to her about it first. People love their Jeeps!

Just remember you do NOT want anything between the clear coat and the PPF. No Ceramic coating, no Wax nothing. If you are doing a cut and polish, make sure the polish is a cut only, no wax.

I am no expert, but considering that yours is brand new. At most i would say just give it a good wash, a light cut if there are any light scratches/brushes and then some claybar action.

Definitely practice on the Jeep. Especially the cutting of PPF film whilst its on the car without cutting all the way through. The Jeep would be perfect for that as all the scratches and gouges would add character.
