Speaking on Thursday ahead of this weekend's Canadian Grand Prix, Hamilton explained the situation, as he also appeared to criticise Ferrari for preventing him and Leclerc from openly discussing issues with the car.

Hamilton said: "Unfortunately the team don't really want us to talk about it but we both had issues that were hindering us massively from halfway through the race.

"I didn't know if we had that problem, but I said on the radio that it was the worst feeling the car ever had. And it truly was."

"It wasn't until after the TV interviews when I got back to the engineers that I found out there was an issue, so it was a bit of a relief to hear that because it definitely didn't feel so terrible afterwards."

Hamilton Haters will still be out in force, but now we know it wasn't all on him.

meanwhile Norris just said in an interview at some stage it's inevitable that him and Piastri will collide ... and that Stella too has said to him it's going to happen

Whatever it was it affected both cars not just 44's. My guess is it may have been the wrong floor.

We never would have thought normal cars could have paddle shifts like formula 1 cars did some 10-15 years ago, but if formula 1 cars did use dry ice... Imagine having dry ice in a normal car...How would they store that and what's the benefit for a normal car

LOL - he has a car that is materially faster and better than Sai in every conceivable way.
In the Ferrari last year (closest point of normalized comparison), Sai through 9 races was materially ahead of Ham, and they also didnt change 99% of the car for Sai to tailor it to his driving style like they did for Ham...and yet Lec is still pounding him into the pavement.

This season MB and Ferrari are usually close or dead equal in the odds to have both cars finish in the top 3...but here for the Canadian GP a notable separation between the two. Ferrari, more and more, looking like a lock for that 2nd place in the WCC.

Ferrari have the second best car overall. Despite Max being able to beat the Ferrari drivers, his car is still not as capable...just that he is the better driver and can extract more from a lesser car. MB car seems to too up and down with reliability issues.

You're right, RBR has no answer for Ferrari...no surprise. Think they'll have trouble finishing any better than where they are (4th).

Well, they have an answer in Max since Max is destroying them both in a far worse car, but as a Constructor, no, unless they find someone as talented as Max and that is basically not possible in F1 or any other level of motorsports.

Thing is I hardly ever use the paddle shifts on mine, I have more satisfaction using the gear change stick when the box is in semi auto mode, to me those paddles are just a boy racer add on

With a car as bad as the RB21 obviously is, RBR knows they're moving further down pit road after this year. As I said, no surprise.

^ The papayas are only coming to the fore because of their tyre cooling trick which increases their pace and nothing else, I'm sure the RBR base will make MAX's car more competitive, he's already moved up and within striking distance. You no doubt are hoping something will happen to MAX and he gets another penalty point leading to a race ban.

Are you saying RBR is bringing upgrades to Canada? I haven't seen that.

Who know's...their engine project may surprise the entire grid. Afterall, they have most of the engineering team that built the MB engine for 2014 and many of the Honda engineers. And Ford is no slouch these days with their racing teams. Could be the perfect storm that literally puts them atop F1 to a great degree. Afterall, they were the first team to say, 'these regs need refining' which then were the exact things the FIA changed.
Honestly, I wouldnt even mind seeing more spec cars if they intend to create a level field, but then again, that plays to Max's favor heavily.

To answer you yes they are though they won't be major, as to what they are you'll have to find out yourself as I would never tell you

You misunderstood my post. Pit road placement is determined by the previous year's finishing order...the lower a team finishes, the further down pit row you go. RBR was third in '24 and as I said, I don’t think they'll improve from the 4th place they currently hold.
No opinion expressed on the 2026 cars or their powere units...from any team.
