Finished it a while back. Now I'm reading First In by Gary Shroen. It's referenced a lot in Jawbreaker so I had to have it.

this book really puts everything into perspective, slammed with undeniable proof and facts.

I heard if you buy it at online, it comes with a big bag of Nacho Cheese Doritos.

bump bump bump!

I'm thinking about picking up Tom Avitabile's The Eighth Day, seems pretty interesting.. Have any of you guys read The Twilight series? My friend is addicted to that book, she said the movie is coming out soon too.. To me, it just seems like an up-class version of Harry Potter mixed with some Underworld action

I've been trying to read the Shobogenzo, vol 1, by Dogen, translated by Nishijimi and Cross. I don't recommend it.

I recently re-read Zen Mind, Beginner's Mind by Shunruy Suzuki. Very good, light reading. Collection of informal lectures from a Zen priest.

If you're curious about Buddhism, check out:
Awakening the Buddha Within: Tibetan Wisdom for the Western World by Lama Surya Das

It's biased toward Tibetan Buddhism, but it it's a good overview of all Buddhism.

The only thing I ever liked by Hesse. A favorite of mine to re-read, along with "The Razor's Edge" by W. Somerset Maugham. Another favorite is "Zen To Go" - a collection of quotes about Zen by Jon Winokur.

Currently, I'm reading (and liking) "The Engineer of Human Souls" by a guy with a Czechoslovakian name (yes, I know, he left before it ceased to exist) I can't remember how to spell.

So you'd definitely recommend it? I'm thinking of picking it up at Borders this week
