DJIA and S&P 500 question for homework!!
hey i have another bus stat question (thanks again for the help last time guys it helped a lot
![]() anyway i have a project due next week so I'm trying to get a head start but one question has me stuck it reads : are the index data categorical or numerical referring to the DJIA and S&P? i think the DJIA is numerical and the S&P is categorical but I'm not 100% sure so i was hoping one of your stock heads would know this answer ![]() thanks in advance |

I would consider them numerical. Think about it this way, if your stat project was interested in the sectors that were represented in these two indexes, you would lean more towards a categorical analysis and employ a two way table to depicting the various sectors that fall within the respective indexes. The DIJA and S&P are weight adjusted averages of stock values as a whole. I would do some more research before you formulate your hypothesis, but hope this helps you out.
