Primarily this forum serves as a community for car enthusiasts.

While all kinds of topics are welcomed and encouraged to be discussed in the off-topic section and its sub-sections, it seems that more often than not when racial topics are brought up, the discussion usually devolves quickly and someone is offended. We want to avoid situations like that. That is why threads that discuss race oftentimes end up getting shut down. Not because we seek to destroy any discussion about race, but because 99.9 percent of the time these threads are nothing but trouble.

As moderators, we are looking out for what is best for all of our members here - the whole of the Bimmerpost community.

People just need to not take things so personally.

The original thread was going just fine. People who had not read or understood the thread got involved and started saying the thread was racist. Sorry, but just because that stands up in the modern court of law as racist, doesn't mean that it actually is.
There is nothing wrong with people being offended. That is life. That is America. That is free speech. That is the basis of what our country is founded upon. That is what the blood of my brothers has been spilled for over the past 200+ years.
If people are offended, let them be offended at the way our rights are undermined in the the name of political correctness and making sure no one is possibly offended. What a bunch of pussies America has become. Makes me want to lay down my weapons and stop defending her.

NoKids. . .people took offense to it because of the way the topic was approached. No one really knew the intention of the thread (me included). Race is a tough issue all-around and it's an even tougher issue to discuss online, let alone a car forum. Don't take offense to them closing your thread. . .I mean I started a thread with pictures of underage girls, entitled "Hook, Line, & Sinker: The Official Jailbait Thread" and I thought it was done in good taste. . .but the Mods didn't Don't worry about it, I sent you a PM.

There are rules here. It is not "okay" if people are offended here, on this board. Example: pornography is legal in America, but is not welcomed on the boards.

You surely must know there is a time and a place for everything.

Honestly, do you really feel oppressed by the way the board is run? Or do you just like compaining/busting my balls?

We do our best to keep copious amounts of nudity off of the board. Yeah, there are some popular threads with pictures of scantily clad women in them, but the women in these pictures are typically clothed to some extent. These threads contain thousands of posts, so sometimes nudity is missed. I challenge you to find any thread that contains hardcore pornography in it. Stuff like that gets shut down pretty quick. This is a family site.

I never even saw the OP's original thread that stirred up the "controversey" so I don't know what the fuss is really about. Just know, if I ever see a thread that has an extremely intellectual discussion about race going on, with no slurs, slander, or blatantly inappropriate comments - it is not going to get shut down.

I think given the context of our forum the content is good.
