Next page problems in threads
I have noticed that with a lot of the threads, it will say for example that I am on page 1 of 2, I will then click on 2 and be right back where I started on page 1. Anyone else notice this?

I've noticed this in one thread.

It happens sometimes when there are just enough posts to fill a page, but for some reason thinks it should be on the next. The next post will be on the next page. I imagine it is a code problem and there isn't much the mods can do about it.

i could be completely wrong but i've noticed it when only one or so posts constitute the next page (one that should be showing) ... i kinda think of it as saving me from having to go to the next page to see just one more post ... it's a feature not a bug!

Is someone going to fix this problem? It has happened to me in more than one thread and it's very annoying. I use other forums with vBulletin and none of them have this problem.

My guess is that it has something to do with edited and/or deleted posts. When a poster edits their post it looks like the software increments "the number of posts" counter even though a new post has not been added and deletions do not seem to decrease the post count.
Just a thought, but have you tried reindexing the DB? That would probably clean up the counter/pointer problem. |
