Seriously, what were you expecting man? This car is going to blow the doors off a G37 in everything but size and price. I just hope when you are driving along in your Infiniti that you dont have any regret when you see the 135i. Honestly, if 2k is enough to sway someone then you really shouldnt be looking at the car. After all this time invested you can flip the switch and say forget it then maybe you were looking at the car for the wrong reasons. The driving dynamics will be unmatched. Its been nice chattting with you on here. Good Luck with your purchase and look out for me in the AW 135i!!

I think he basically summed it up. The G37 is a nice ride. I don't blame you for choosing one, even if it is the wrong choice. :tongue:

The G37 is a great ride if you have never owned a G before. Coming from a G35 I saw very little upgrade in terms of looks and performance.

Back in early 2003 I was one of the first to take delivery of a 6spd G35. The car LOOKS great but the engine sounds like crap at high revs and the shifter just about vibrates out of your hand at 6 and 7 grand. If you are used to BMW or Honda motors you will find the NVH offensive just like I did. Six months after taking delivery I sold it for the NSX I still own today, but I can't wait to add the 135 to my garage.

Teslaastro, i've debated it over and over as u must have. But in the end, just take the 4yr maintenance into account and the fact that the 135i is faster in everything and has better gas millage. It will help you adjust for the price a little more. I mean at 35675 + 1000(ZSP) + 500(Comfort Access), it goes to 37175. Not a bad deal i'd say. Plus, you can't take the fam on a ED with the infiniti.

Hey friends:

After much deliberation, I did in fact decide to go with the new G37 vs the 135.....it wasnt an easy decision, but here are my reasons

1) As you guys may know, I have as a client one of the larger Infiniti dealers here in S FLA - so I drove the new G this week
2) My impressions were that this car was much more refined than my 04 G35 - definitely faster, nice throaty exhaust note, and cornering i felt was better....the interior is sumptuous, with a 7" screen (non nav) for info like music, radio station , a/c temp et al...it is what it is, a very nice car
3) As you know, I am giving this car to my son when he gets his license....I've been considering a few things such as a) long term reliability(7+ years) of the twin turbo vs the virtually bulletproof VQ Nissan 6 that I am so familiar with - My G has been flawless. No flames, but my friend's '00 750 that he maintained very well started to have a multitude of problems b)ultimately, higher repair costs of a BMW vs an Infiniti, which is essentially a Nissan - again, this car is being given to my kid after about 4.5 years of my using it...C) The G is heavier and I suspect easier for a new driver to handle...I've initially discounted all the posters opinions about this, but a 0-60 time 1/2 a second slower is a difference.....I know it seems like I'm rationalizing.......maybe I am

4) OK....Price......135 with Premium and auto, 2 of the must haves for me - $40,175 + $600 dest(?) + FL 6.5% tax = $43425.00

G with premium and sport - $37,900 (my client promised me $700 over invoice) + 6.5% tax = $40,363

some things the G has that I like and included in price above, but not in 135 as configured above:

-IPOD connectivity
- 19" wheels and tires and no run flats
-LSD
- satellite radio

**also, I suspect that I've done about $1k worth of excessive wear and tear damage on the current G, which is leased...I have a deep pair of scratches on rear bumper where my garage door shut on it....Curbs have chewed up the 2 front wheels on the lip....the front fascia has scratches, and whatever else the independant inspector will find....This will all be forgiven if I go infiniti on my next car

** also, I will get 3.9% financing through Infiniti.....so far, the best private financing offer I got was from USAA at 5.7%

So these are my reasons....if the circumstances were different , and i didnt have to make a Bar Mitzvah for my kid in 1.5 years (25k), I very well would have made a different decision...Again, am I rationalizing, maybe, but I know I will have no regrets....

I wish all of you guys the very best with your new 1s....I'm sure you will be thrilled with it.......

I've really had alot of fun posting and replying on this site....the debates and the point/counterpoint stuff was fun too.....a great outlet to work out my frustrations....

Seriously. JUST drove the G37 literally an hour ago. It's actually a really nice car. My sisters boyfriend bought one and I took er out i was impressed. It feels like a jet, but its not really my type of car. He has his alllll optioned out its nuts. I think I'm going with the 1er still (way faster).

Why don't you look at 128i if you are worried about turbo? BMW vs. Infinit..... I have a feeling that you will regret it and might come back to BMW.
