Will this forum have vendors, fs, sponsors, growth?

I'm wondering if this board will eventually have vendors, for sale sections, group buys, sponsors, etc like other boards have?

Also additions or growth to the board like modification talk, auto-x, etc etc

dont think this has been asked yet

This would be real good if it happens which it will eventually. I still think the 135 has a lot of marketing to happen for it to really get out there and eventually become a a BMW Icon. This forum should be at the top of the list for owners potential buyers and definently enthusiasts and who ever owns this forum should make sure its search engine optimized. Which will be easy as ever due to the traffic and the content in regards to the 135!

I've noticed a vendor got the boot from here. He was talking about designing a rim for the 1series called the VS8. He already designed the VS7 for the 3 series and they sold like hotcakes...

I know! They were some forged monoblock wheels with concave spokes. I wanted to see if they came in 18 inches, but someone closed the thread...:frown:

I just think the Owner doesn't have a decent plan yet, or has one and has not followed through with it. I'm sure those vendors that started showing their wares were deterred because there just a process in place yet.

Obviously, there needs to be a process, and darned quickly too. These cars are being released, and there will be more traffic here (as we've seen lately). Then again, there needs to be more moderators and a better sub-forum structure to include 'For Sale', 'Want to Buy', 'Group Buys', 'Tech Talk', 'Motorsports', 'Car Care', etc... As good as it is here, it's missing a lot.

In my book, there is no car on the streets yet for us to enjoy, so why do we need to buy anything from vendors? I personally hate spam, and these vendors kept posting spam type of messages on the forum that really benefited noone. Of course once the car is out and there is some kind of trade going on between members we will setup the commercial side of the site such as for sale sections, etc.. Don't you like how the site is so far? If so, have some faith

Bmwfreak, are you creating a US only site? This car is out in the wild (has been for years, actually). If you're creating a North America Coupe only site, so be it.

I like seeing what options I'll have once one is in my garage (pre-planning). Plus, you'll recoup costs for hosting and bandwidth, which will be ever increasing. I do like the site, btw.

You say they post spam, but all I saw was people introducing themselves to the forum members.

Not trying to create an argument, but trying to see what this spam you talk of is.

AFAIK, there is no relationship between 1Addicts and e90post. And yes, I believe the owners are currently considering how to best roll out a commercial section of the 1Addicts forum. Please be patient.

Couldn't see why you wouldn't want sponsors.

Sponsors = revenue

sponsers would be great for group buys but i love one addicts for the lack of ads...

for example nasioc has gotten a bit spammy with all the underlined words and then ads popping up when you hover over...
iwsti.com was ruined by sponsers... i never go there which is a shame because i was around when it started but the ads killed the site....there are ads between every post!

i think we need key sponsers like tire rack, dinan and so on, not just small tuner shops

either way i respect how harold has handled this forum thus far
