Making an offer on a house in Vegas
In a couple months I will be moving from Korea to Vegas and I'll need a place to park my new 1. I have found you 1ADDICT's here to hold a wealth of knowledge on many different subjects. With that said, I'm 29 and this is my first house. I've done my quite a bit of general research, but any additional advise would be much appreciated.
Here is the first place that has caught my attention: Positives: Great location on a nice golf course. And it seams to be a really nice place. Negatives: No pool, and it's only a single story. http://www.cyberhomes.com/VanillaLis...stingid=780025

Oh yeah, it also seams to be one of those cookie cutter communities where all the houses look similar. I'll get a better idea when I can check the place out in person.

IMHO, 300k is a bit steep. The housing market is in the toilet right now and I think you can do better at that price point. Also keep in mind that the house was built 20years ago. Be aware that things start to crack after 5-6 years. Then again, I am speaking as a person that lives in FL. 300k can get you brand new 2500sq house w/ 2 car garage right now. My .02

I'm thinking about maybe taking a six month lease when I show up. That should give me some time to get a feel for the market. I certainly don't think prices are going up any time soon.
