Help Please - Interesting ideas transporting a huge poster in my e90
I won this enormous Poster on ebay whose image ive become obesses with:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=150023144725 (note I am not that winner, he renigged and I got a second chance offer) 6 feet by 4 feet It just arrived today, and my lord is it massive. I want to get it professionally framed, because I think it will look impressive that way. And can easily transport it to the frame shop, but I have no idea how I will get it back. Perhaps a courier can deliver it? Perhaps I can have it hanging out the trunk? Perhaps protect it/my car and strap it to the hood? Any ideas folks? I really dont want to rent a truck or something but I will if I have to. Maybe I could hire one of those taxis that are Minivans, have him meet me at the frameshop load it up, and then meet me at my apt?

It will be too wide for your trunk so forget that... call around some frame shops and ask them. They might have a delivery van.

I REALLY like the photograph (moreso than Mischa)
Something about that photo. I saw the ads around town, and I was like... I gotta have it. GETTING the poster the framers is no problem. It came in a tube, no problem getting that in the backseat. I'm just concerned about getting it back to my apt. I can see I need some sort of delivery option. I have it up with Tacks at the moment, but I REALLY want it framed. Everything I have is framed. I just feel it'd be more tasteful. 20'' iMac (for refrence...it's huge this poster)

I hope you know it will cost an arm and a leg to frame something that big. You better be sure you reallllly like that picture. As far as delivery, see my post above. It's not hard. |

I've had Large items framed before. Infact something larger. My apt is filled with very large art. I'm prepared to pay around 200-300. I have a certain type of metal frame in mind. And yes... I do like it THAT much. And yeah, calling around is definately the best thing to do, I will do that.

how about waiting until you have to take in your BMW for service (mine is going in Sept 14th).......make sure your dealer offers loaners......and get an X3 or some other SUV to use for a day or so!
