I think i just picked my next car!
I know i know. im stuck in my lease for almost another year. but im already getting excited about it. I NEVER think about buying a used car. and i NEVER have purchased a car. just leased. i also never had a 2 door car. but..
I ALWAYS loved and dreamed about a cl600. at 110k brand new, starting price, i figured i couldnt afford one for at least a few more years. but 2002's are pretty cheap and 2003's and 04's are even possible. i just looked at a handful of 04's for 58k. what do you guys think? biturbo. 2 doors navi. keyless go.

Yowza a luxury coupe with a 6-digit price tag and 12 cylinders. That's an incredible car, especially the 600 version. I am into smaller (and less expensive!) cars, but if that's your dream car, go for it!

Buying a used CL600 is a huge undertaking. True these cars take a huge depreciation hit but there's a reason for that i.e. low confidence in the used market. The CL600 is a highly complex cars....lots of things can and do go wrong often resulting in heavy repairs especially if the car is out of warranty. As usual, full service history and extended warranty should be a major consideration. If possible for starmark certified pre-owned to take advantage of extended warranty. GL.

Yup, there's a reason luxury cars have the worst resale ... they're usually the ones with all the bells and whistles to break.
Make sure you get a certified pre-owned extended warranty. |

the cl600 is an awesome car and definitely worth that tag. but id rather opt for the 55. theres really no point in the v12, just higher repair costs. 55 is more sportier, less nose-heavy and gets better mileage (lol i think).
I am in the same situation as you, but with the sl55 amg. i just love that car. and 04s are around 70k, which i can manage. but i need to keep it real..ive only had my e90 since january. unless i make a boatload of cashflow next year, ill still be driving my 215hp dog with fleas. |

i definitely see what your saying, sun. it just seems that because the 55 is so much more rare, the resale value is a lot better, so it seems to be out of my price range. but im looking.
