It's supposed to be released on or before mid-May. However, some stores around the country already have them in stock. A local camera around here got them almost a week ago.

used 40D ftw...the hd video isnt worth it imo...not very functional in comparison to a video cam, just an extra feature to distract you from the goal of photography...beautiful images

agreed 40D ftw. even a new 40D these days will cost about the same as a new ti1.
the video is a cool thing, but the only real "upgrades" are the digic 4 and micro adjust for lenses, which i cant remember if it has off the top of my head. plus if you shoot manual, the wheel on the back of the 40D kicks ass for ease of use and aperture adjustment with the thumb. its so easy. all the rebel series doesn't have it and when i moved up from my old one, i was thrilled at how easy it was now. also, just go to the camera store and hold both in your hands. unless you have small hands, everything from above will no longer be an issue and i guarantee you will walk out with the 40D

I don't know the details of the T1i video, but it's a great feature on the 5D. I don't use it that often, but it's come in handy numerous times and it's great for the photographer who wants to just dabble in video. After owning the 5D for a few months, I don't think I could go back to a video-less SLR anymore. In a few years, it will be standard in all SLRs anyways.
