I think you're right. It appears to be a new lens by Sigma, a 800mm f/5.6 APO EX DG, weighs 4.9 kg (10.78 lbs), is 156.5mm x 521mm and the only price I've found for it is £3794 or roughly $7600.

I have a Tokina 300mm f/2.8 that, when coupled with a Kenko 2x teleconverter and attached to my Nikon D100, I get 900mm f/5.6 for less than a third of that price. However, take that Sigma and put it on the D100 without the teleconverter it ends up a whopping 1200mm f/5.6. I wouldn't recommend trying this lens with any teleconverter because with a 2x you lose two f-stops which brings it to f/11 and autofocus on the D100 is sketchy at f/8.
