wow, that sucks, berkeley MCB/bioE that can't find a job. EECS should still be doing ok tho.

you should try posting a flyer in the engineering library ( below Sibley auditorium) , you might get some gearhead MechE's applying.

Trust me, I know what real work is

I work for another motorsport shop in SJ, but I'm a full-time support engineer in the IT industry.

Really? What shop?
Please, send in an application if you meet most of the requirements!

I would love to apply, but I only meet the requirements for the Sales position. I'd only be available for weekends, which isn't what you're looking for.

However, I'll keep this in mind and let you know if I can find anyone else that comes across my mind.

But nothing is as easy to verify, nor as sure a bet as "yes, I made it through the school of _______ at ________ university."

The honest truth is that whether you studied Bio engineering or basket weaving, you had to have developed these skills to make it on your own in academia. That's what we're trying to get at, plain and simple.

I'm sure the OP is getting flooded with apps.

We opened up a clerical position and it was pretty sad. You had the typical clerical type sitting next to multi-degree'd people who just a year ago was making 100K, waiting to interview.

Sad, sad state of affairs.

It's very true, we are receiving extremely over qualified individuals for some of these positions. As an employer, it's an unbelievable opportunity to secure talent.

I have candidates that have MBA's from Berkeley and SCU applying to the entry level book keeping job. One lady has 30 years experience, another is a certified CPA.

Even people who still have jobs have had their hours cut back and are willing to come in after 2pm, which is fine by us.

I had to take down the job posting for the book keeping job after 60 applications.
