Borderlands
Anyone else tracking this game / planning on getting it? I've been following it's development all year and it's finally coming out next week. It seems to be flying under the radar a little bit with the behemoth MW2 coming out in a couple of weeks (kudos to the developers for not running to 2010 like many have, it also being a first-person oriented game). I like the snarky humor and no apologies attitude of the game.
I originally planned on running a soldier build through it, but might end up playing as Lilith after watching some in-game footage of how she can play. The only class I'm not too interested in playing is Brick/Tank. With millions of guns, who wants to spend all their time punching stuff? I was a little skeptical at first, as most videos consisted of Gearbox's CEO talking up his own game, using the same phrases over and over, but the final build looks like it's going to deliver as promised. Although that claptrap character already annoys the hell out of me. If you haven't heard of it, here are some enticing videos. Recent TV ad. This one shows more of how the game plays http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/acti...preview-1?hd=1 I can't wait! -BMW2006 |

Just realized that Borderlands comes out on the same day as Torchlight. I might table it and wait for a price drop in that case. Shouldn't take too long to see a deal pop up.

Yeah, i'm hoping that it builds momentum after release. What I'm most afraid of is it being totally eclipsed by Modern Warfare 2, which is already kinda happening. Most people I talk to seem to like the idea, then just go "all i want is Modern Warfare to come out". The initial reviews are pretty positive. Some dumb store managers accidentally broke release date and sold it last week to a few lucky peeps. (Brutal Legend's release date and Borderlands mixed up) Those lucky few have been streaming gameplay videos all week, it's driving me nuts! Release day is tomorrow, too bad I have to work 8( -BMW2006 |

Got it for PC. Pretty fun. Definately a mix of diablo, mad max, left for dead, and Firefly. Some of the bandits really remind me of the reapers.

Sweet, hope you guys enjoy it. I've been too busy playing it and working to check back on the thread.
![]() It starts off kinda slow, you really need to put a few hours into it to start full on exploration mode and finding gun cases to spark that inner loot whore into action. I'm still finding guns that are radically different at lvl 25. I managed to convince one of my friends to buy it , he loves it and has played it so much in 3 days he is going to pass me in lvls unless I log on right now. Everyone else is waiting for Modern Warfare 2. Which I'm definately getting also. But when I just want to have to plain fun, Borderlands it is! -BMW2006 |

Definitely lots of fun to play, especially if you're playing with friends.
Doesn't remind me of Fallout at all. Only thing it reminds me of is Heavy Metal. The visuals are sort of in that style. I would say it's definitely different enough to be in it's own category. What's nice is it really mixes FPS with RPG well but in a different way than Fallout or Elder Scrolls. |

Me and my brother have been playing this as well. It's surprisingly addictive. Like someone mentioned, the story is virtually non-existent, but the whole fun of the game is just to get the biggest, baddest guns you possibly can and see how much havoc you can wreck.
Currently playing as a level 25 Lilith. I love her phase walk skill, plus the phase in and phase out immolation flares are just fun as hell to use. Run up to a bunch of bandits, phase out, and watch everyone around you within a 10 ft. radius get reduced to cinder. :3 ![]()
