997 >> 996, but I still vote GT2.
I could never go with an all-wheel drive porsche. It just feels so wrong Couldnt you find a 997 GT3 for around the same price? Or just supercharge a 997S for 10 grand.

I'd get the Turbo and retrofit the GT2 turbos into it.

They are completely different cars.
What will it be used for? Is there any driving talent? Has the driver had track time? If it's going to be steet driven, go with the turbo, it's much more manageable and less likely to wind up in a tree. If the car is going to see some track time, and there is previous experience and self-control... go for the GT2. |

^ Pretty much this. You can also convert the Turbo to RWD FYI.
The interior comments are hilarious. The GT2 sux because the interior is meh?

Buying a GT2 and bitching about the interior is like buying a Prius and complaining about the 55 second 0-60 time. |

I value my life...I'd take the turbo. I don't mind kicking the back end out of a 300hp car, but no way in hell I'm comfortable enough to go tossing a GT2 around.

And needless to say the "old and outdated" 996 GT2 would put many drivers on this forum in a ditch or around a telephone pole.

Turbo! are you kidding?? the GT2 is going on 7 years old.
Not to mention I dont know your driving background but the GT2 has left me in many situations I felt lucky to have survived haha. Turbo has a nice AWD setup. I really like the new design on the interior over the old models. I wouldn't get an 07 though. Weren't there a bunch of changes because 07 was the first year with the variable vein turbos? I could be wrong. Remember hearing that at the track from owners.

I am a good driver and have been to the track many times, but this car will primarily be used on the streets and possibly a substitute DD - so I am leaning more towards the turbo. Thanks for all the input!
