Here is BMW's first official commercial for the new Concept ActiveE car, based off the 1-series coupe.

does any body else get reminded of the "flux capicitor" from Back to the Future when they see that blue e-drive unit in the trunk? hahaha!

I always wanted a flux capicitor!

that commercial was so lame, my dog threw up... haha but this is gonna be sweeet... any hybrid, electric ect is better then a prius

This commercial is not so bad. Pretty obvious the car is electric. Commercial does play against the notion that the back seat could be full of batteries instead of having passenger seating.

Housing the batteries/electronic controls behind a clear plexiglass cover is also not a bad idea. I am surprised some of the hybrid or electric cars already on the market don't do this. Although gimmicky, it is an inexpensive way to visually show off the e-cred of the car and make the owners feel even more smug.
