Assuming that was real, I'm conflicted. It's a pretty cool concept but there are so many things wrong with it. It's kind of like a golf cart and a smart car having a baby.

The front looks like some kind of optical illusion...maybe their design software had a glitch when it was outputting the instructions to the robots and no one caught it. After a few thousand rolled off the line someone finally said WTF but it was too late.

I'll be honest, I kind of like it. Yeah it's kind of funky, but keep in mind this is 1989 (I looked it up) and it looks far better than the Aztec ever did, not to mention it was useful assuming you live in the South. I think with some minor design tweaks it could have been a winner. I also read it was slated to come with a 3.0 V6 with 170hp, and AWD. Looking at it that thing would probably be pretty light and therefor pretty fast.
In summary, I would have much rather seen them selling these as opposed to Aztecs. Interestingly enough this thing apparently is still alive and part of Pontiac's "historic fleet" in Detroit at some museum. |
