Probably not in the DX format, since the D300s just came out. I'm guessing the next thing Nikon releases is a D700 upgrade/replacement in the $2500+ range.
The 2010 PMA show is 2/21-2/23, so you may want to wait until then to see if anything new is announced.

I would say go for it. They just came out with them and the next update will more than likely be to the D700. A guy I shoot with regularly just got one and loves it! Very nice upgrade compared to his old D200.
