Coral Gables is probably not what you're looking for, the property values are still pretty high there (considering the rest of FL). Aside from it's proximity to Miami, it's not a real great vacation home area (way too much traffic). Homestead you can forget, pretty much miles and miles from anywhere. It's the gateway to the Keys if you like to snorkle/scuba though.
