Want New Radar Detector Escort Redline
**First off, this post is a duplicate of the one i have posted in the technical section, but sadly it doesn't have as much traffic as the OT and no replies.**
In need of a new detector to replace my 4 year old X50 blue. have recently noticed that Escort came out with the 'Redline' but still trying to do more research. right now, i am thinking in between the 9500iX or the Redline. anyone have any experience with the Redline yet? i assume Redline should be better than 9500iX since its a newer product? if so, how is it compared to the V1? have used the V1 before from my bro but it just confuses me, don't know why any feedback/suggestions greatly appreciated mods, please remove if necessary |

I think the redline is similar to the V1. Falses a lot and have no feature to block out.
I had 5 different radar including the V1 and 9500i/9500ix. For someone who does city/highway driving I would highly recommend the 9500i/ix. The GPS lock out signal works perfectly. I got sick of the V1 false alarms so I sold it and got a 9500ix. |

It depends alot on where you live and drive. I have the 8500 X50 and see no need to upgrade as it's so flat and open here that you can usually spot the PO-LEESE long before they can zap you with laser. The X50 works fine for other bands and we have no cameras (yet). When (if) that changes or the X50 dies, I'll go with the 9500 if nothing better has come out by then. Although I have considered the V1 for the arrows if nothing else. I just hate the way the V1 looks. Very bulky.

the 4 years with the X50 has been great, returned it once for service only.
but recently it has gone crazy one me, the Laser alert goes off randomly sometimes in my garage or when i'm in a wal-mart parking. and you know the Laser Alert sound is definitely not pleasant, sometimes it just scares the S#@T out of me going off randomly like that. also, GF recently aquired a 2010 GTI and i assume that car also needs one of these machines. so basically ji'm giving old one to GF and buying new one for myself. |

I have yet to buy a detector and I was going back and forth between the V1, which I believe looks super bulky, and the Passport 9500.
After reading reviews and peoples experiences I'm fairly sure I'm going to get the 9500. Not sure if anyone has looked at these reviews, Speedzones "Impartial Field Testing Authority". Interesting... http://www.speedzones.com/sz_new_25_june.html

well depends if you like to speed as much as i do. 9500ci's jamming capabilities are good, but not great like the LI. LI has saved me from at least a dozen tickets. add that up and you've just saved yourself a couple grand. besides, you can get a 9500xi and a LI for about the same price as a 9500ci.
