I usually use 0 alone
makes it faster

I repaired tonight and I just used 0 on both.. it works

You could try erasing all previous entered/paired phones to the car my activating the voice button on steering wheel and say 'help' or 'menu' or listen to what it says then it will ask if u want to erase previous entries say 'yes' and start over.

When I paired my phone to my Q5 the car had a preset passcode that I had to enter on my phone and it was 0000

there is no point in making it overly complicated since it needs confirmation from both ends...
