Qantas Engine
Airbus SAS and Rolls-Royce Group Plc began investigating why an engine on a Qantas Airways Ltd. A380 superjumbo exploded in mid flight.
Maybe it has a BMW HPFP that let go.

Qantas have started outsourcing maintenance to third world countries to save money. They are no longer the Qantas of Rain Man days, I'm afraid.
Cheers, Alf

The RR Trent 900 as fitted to the Qantas A380 are fully maintained by RR who are the manufacturer and the A380 heavy maintenance is done in Frankfurt Germany by Lufthansa which last time I checked was certainly not a 3rd world country

Something is seriously going wrong at the Qantas maintenance facility, today a Qantas 747 (also RR Engines) leaving Singapore for Sydney (Just like the A380) also experience an engine failure and had to return back to Singapore. FYI, If you want to fly into Australia, fly a real airline like Singapore lol

To be frank, a highly unrealistic and stupid comment

There was another Qantas B747-400 returned to SIN because of engine trouble just two days after the A380 incident....not sure if its the RR or GE powered 744...
