...all things to all people ... is a horrible stratagy, just a personal opinion but reckless expansion in the guise of "allowing for funds to support the models enthusiests really love" is tragic we dont need a lexus-toyota-scion... I guess we have in rolls-bimmer-mini .... Im not company exec material... but everyone on earth needs "growth over last years growth" forever, its greed and irrational. ..ok enough ranting.... soon we will have the 128Li and hte clubman "year of hte boar" edition.... *sigh*

In the future you will see a greater synergy between these two divisions, Motor cycle engines etc are lighter , more efficient and more compact. BMW have tested the new in-line six developed for Motorrad within a car chassis. |

If they build this car and put a motorcycle engine in it, then it will officially reach absolutely-must-have status as far as I am concerned.

But where is the family car, something a person could fit three kids (two in isofix child seats) across the back of, there are loads of dads who hate the idea of a mini van but need one but would leap at a BMW MPV. Mercedes almost got it right with the R class but they screwed up by building it on the ML/GL platform, pricing it wrong and making it so darn ugly, if they had built this on a C class platform and priced it somewhere between the C & E I'm sure it would have been a winner.

I give up on BMW. They're not the car company they use to be. Geared towards driving pleasure. Now all they want is your money, and they still cut corners in quality and features. Congrats BMW, you are officially no different then a Chevy. Might as well start offering a pick-up truck as well.

BMW way back right up to the early 90's never had very high quality standards, if you think they did then you are kidding yourself, Mercedes were always build like a bank vault, BMW never were. |
