Convenience Opening --- wuuuut?

SUPER COOL:

So you hold the 'up arrow' on your key and all the windows and the sunroof opens.

WUUUUUT?:

Now what, where is the keyless closing? They should have made it so that holding the center lock button shuts everything. I guess BMW doesn't want you giving the kids or pets the old guillotine .

BETTER THAN NOTHING:

If you take your mechanical key out, you can close all windows. Stick the key in the driver door lock, hold it rotated clockwise, and all will close.

That is sort of common knowledge for owners. Thanks for effort although.

Remote window closing is available in some countries. You are correct; the fear of litigation from accidental & irresponsible drivers who would crush someone in the window keeps the option out of the US. Our litigious society blames manufacturers for our accidents and causes our products to be paired down or full of warning labels. We have to keep things safe for the weakest minded citizen. Just look at a blow dryer and the stupid warnings that have to be printed on them..."Don’t use while bathing".

If you have comfort access you can close all windows while locking the doors by holding your finger on the handle for a few seconds longer than normal. The windows and sunroof will close.

Remote closing works in Oz.

I don't understand the litigation line when the windows etc have an anti-trap feature. Surey this would be sufficient??

But the problem is the general population is dumber here in North America. If we screw up and chop our arms off, we can take it to court and blame someone else for our stupid actions. The world we live in I guess.

Actually I would say that the lawyers are smarter and run the country (at least in the US). This is especially true in NY where it takes not one, not two, but THREE lawyers to buy a house  If that's not orginized crime I don't know what is.

Sorry for the rant... It just gets me mad how everything is decided by the lidigation that could insure.

In Illinois it takes 2 layers, 2 realtors, 1 title officer, 1 Loaner agent
and 1 buyer to buy a home ....

Yeah, but all kinds of magical things are possible in Munchkin Land. Maybe there are fewer lawyers there as well. Someday I'll drive down that Yellow Brick Road.
