Road encounter: MB C320 vs. my 328i
Ok so a few weeks back i was on my way to the track (1/4 mile) and on the way there i encountered an MB C320 on the freeway, he was driving pretty fast (about 9pm freeway was mostly empty) so i decided to pull up alongside him.
eventually the guy started tried to get me to race him so i did. all rolling starts anywhere from 50mph to 90 mph. Every single time I easily walked away from him and kept on going. I have a 328i E90 step, needless to say I was very surprised that i had beaten a C320 so easily. I even though it was a c230 because of it, so i got behind him to take a look at the badge and confirm that it was a c320, and it was. (there were 2 guys in that car and i was alone, maybe that was a factor.) anyways, after that was over I called a friend of mine that has one and told him all about it. So yesterday night he calls me and tells me he's out in the MB and that he wanted to race because he didn't believe that i had beaten a that c320. We met up later on, and did a rolling start at about 30mph, this time it was just him and me, which made it fair. Instantly after nailing the throttle I started pulling on him, (not as much as I did on the other guy) slowly but surely I gained one car length on him. all the way up to 120mph when i let off the gas before a bend. after that we got off the freeway and went up to a red light and started off from 0. I also won that one, again slowly but surely pulling away. afterwards, my friend was very surprised and told me: "wow dude, your car is really fast" I said thanks, with a nice grin on my face. so yeah, thats the story. BTW, all this was at night with little or no traffic on the road. the 328 ain't so bad after all EDIT: btw, that day i did 15.2 ET on the track (i know, horrible but it was my first time at the 1/4 mile, and the car was getting massive wheel spin, and i had to let of the gas just to get going) I'll go again soon, i know for a fact i can get it down to the 14's with some practice. post results when i do.

3's are underestimated. Here I get all kinds of idiots (I'm know I'm definitely not the only one) wanting to race me when my 335i would clearly kill them. Hell tonight alone it was an Audi A4 and a fucking Cobalt just on the way to get something to eat. Can't wait to get my PROcede this week

BIMMER ROCK!
But, if you guys keep going above 120 mph. I think he'll start to catch up then pull away. That happens to 335 against C350. Don't you think so? |

Don't forget that the 328 has slightly more hp than the E46 330s, although a little less torque. The performance numbers are very close. And I found the E46 330 to be more than adequate, so the 328 shouldn't be any less impressive.
