Uhh sounds very unlikely. And even if bmw went into watersports, why would they just plaster a yamaha waverunner with their badges, it's not like the waverunner is the most award-winning watervehicle there is ... Check BRP or kawasaki's lineup

wow. thats a new one. i have never heard of someone trying this, but then again im not surprised at the stupidity of some people. plus if the guy is an older man, then people are more inclined to beleive him or at least doubt their own doubts... its so sad to even think of someone saying they have a bmw waverunner.... lol

Ze German engineers do not have time to waste on silly waverunners!!!

But seriously, they're worried about autobahns, not the ocean. And since when could an I6 fit in a waverunner? Let's be realistic...

Kinda like a V8 in a motorcycle. BMW made marine engines and at least a couple of them are in-line sixes (two gas engines 3.0L and 3.5L and a diesel 3.6L - B630, B635, and D636) but squeezing them into a waverunner would be a bit bizarre.

Try this: http://www.bmwmarine.com/

If it had the name "WaveRunner" anywhere on the thing, then it is definitely a Yamaha - as that is a trademark belonging to them.

But I've been around boats/PWCs for years and have never heard of it. BMW does have a marine division that produces somewhat larger inboard diesel/gasoline engines for mostly European consumers.

Listen, maybe it just had a custom fabbed BMW motor swap in it?

Who knows?

I know they don't make jetskiis but maybe he put in an E30 motor or something small like a 1.6 or 1.8 litre BMW motor?

as for BMW using a Yamaha as a test mule . They ran yamaha R6 Bodywork on their 1000RR all thru development. The R6 size was their bench mark. I'm not saying they're doing the same for watercraft , but the did it with their motorcycles. Just saying
