I like the floors. You got them in from the before pic and this one. So it took 13 hours to do floors. You also moved the light and that probably took at least 8 solid hours.

At seven am I was arguing with my hardware store know it all about how bright is needed to give shades to the wall. At two pm, I had the right fucking lights that don't show the same shades in pics and zero floor done. Now it's nearing midnight and I'm doing the fucking floor.

Counting abilities are good.

Each board line is put down by 16 screwes. Now if you have two boxes of screwes that are mostly empty, you're going to be pissed when you run out.

On a totally different note, I watched a sort of neat video of a guy using a torch to give his wood floor a darker / burnt look that brought out the grain of the wood. I can't find the video now, but here is another one of the same sort of thing being done to a table. Though personally, I think they held the torch too close and got it too dark for me.

You should consider it. You, a propane tank, a torch, and flammable materials all around. What could possibly go wrong?

I'd like to point out that while there have been a lot of dearly loved (but very slightly mishandled) tools that you were banned from using, YET, during the course of this renovation, you used them anyways.

Which suggests to me that perhaps the bans in place from the past are all temporarily lifted, only for the purpose of this project. And then they are back in place.

At least, this is the line of reasoning I suggest you put forward to your extremely long suffering husband, when you are explaining what happened AFTER you blow torch the floors.

I was making a bed frame for my friend and it was pretty fucking horrible looking thing. I was burning the wood and all! It was nearly done when I managed to destroy one of the structural beams for it and you know my temper... I took it out of my shed and torched the whole thing. The sad part was that it was going to be a wedding gift for them and his stupid wannabe wife designed it and it was ugly. No other word for it.

I think I did their sex life a favour but they decided not to have it with each other just a few years later.

I get banned but I whine enough to get a permission again and then get banned again. He is pretty mean like that.

I just want to say that this cold and the fucking ribs and me being me will from this point on cost me 200 bucks per day till I have a working toilet. I'm actually paying for the guy to stay in a good hotel till i can have a shit that I don't need to plan for.

Allow me to share a little story with you:

One of the guys that my brother works with did this - so this is a true story. He was on the second (I believe) kid with his wife, and his wife really wanted more, but he was done. Anyways, one day he told his wife that he and the guys were doing a guy's trip to Las Vegas for an upcoming weekend and so she knew he was going to be away and all that, everything was good. However, there was no actual Las Vegas trip. Instead, he went to the urologist, got snipped / vasectomy, and booked himself into a hotel for the weekend to recover so that his wife knew nothing and just assumed he was in Vegas.

Now I'm not sure if she has found out yet, I can't remember whether there were updates to the story, but the above part I remember.

So I have to ask...has your husband ever been on any "trips with the guys" for a few days in the past few years??
