I read the marshalling lights system was turned off 34 seconds prior to the driver reaching it. Simple question is why was it turned off.

You're kidding right? How many pole positions and how many GP's has VER won this year and by what margin? And you don't think VER can come back from a 5 place grid penalty? Come on...

There is zero doubt that VER can overcome this penalty and perhaps even win the GP, it's just going to come down to their race strategy rather than the first couple of turns.

Botas ignored singled waved yellow, max ignored a double. Those are the standard penalties for those infractions
