You guys are funny. Today was less satisfying watching it just sit in a port. But once it starts going again it's fun to check in.

Looks like the Grand Duke is the smallest of the tree ships just based on capacity. Strange it looks like the biggest in the picture. I guess it's all perspective.

Apparently I was mistaken earlier. Talked to my friend who was a former BMW Tech at the dealership. All our cars that come from Germany will bypass the East Coast VPC and go through the Panama Canal to the West Coast VPC before heading to Hawaii, unless something changed recently.

That was also my understanding based on my desperate google searching haha.

I'm guessing you made it out of the port? My status updated to "In Transit" overnight. I haven't received a response from genius yet, but my wild guess is that it's on NYK's "Daedalus Leader". In any case, I'm hoping for smooth sailing!

My CA responded that she wouldn't know what ship it's on until it's on the boat on it's way to Honolulu, but that I should expect my car the week of 12/19 or the week after at the latest. I guess I'll follow up and harass a genius lol

I'm hoping that won't affect me. As I understand it, cars bound for Hawaii bypass the east coast entirely. The ship from Germany goes through the Panama Canal and delivers the vehicles to the VPC in California, before being loaded onto another boat bound for Honolulu. I was told only in rare cases would the car be unloaded on the east coast and shipped across the country before leaving the west coast to Honolulu.

For any of you West coast people, genius has confirmed that my X1 boarded on the Daedalus Leader on 11/26 and is scheduled to arrive at Port Hueneme on 12/20, or potentially sooner

Mine finally arrived at the dealership today! Ordered on 9/5 and production was complete 9/27. Can't wait to pick it up this weekend!

Dec 11th.... bout a 6 hour drive from the port.

Hopefully I'm picking it up that weekend.

Sorry to say but you got hosed. My car was just offloaded in Newark off the Don Quijote. It just pulled away this evening...next stop, Brunswick est. 12/9. Your car definitely should have been on that ship....

My x1 arrived in the US, supposed to be at the port in Brunswick on Tuesday... though as you can see on the map, Raleigh is closer to the Maryland port than the GA one. I wonder why they aren't just dropping it off there?

Hopefully I'll be picking it up, this time next week
