but the upgrades are probably handicapped by the budget cap, all the money going to fix Perez car. maybe they just don't fix Perez car and use the money for Max car.

No two races are quite the same and sure the Laren's strat may be more workable but they are not used to winning. Oscar wants a win too and juggling where 2 cars will be won't be that easy for them with RB concentrating on just the one.

I don't think it's that but simply as the pressure mounts on him he is taking unnecessary risks, cutting the slippery kerb was a chance he took and lost.

Didn't Horner asked him to stick around for one more year and he would get his shot somewhere (I think people assumed RBR after Suz or RIC moved out.

Marko is looking for younger talent as well.

RIC is gone. Move Liam to RB and bring a younger driver to RBR. It's not like Mick Schumacher would get the seat at RB.

I’m not specifically referring to crashing but his overall performance since about the middle of last year. To have a top tier car and consistently not get into the final qualifying bout is ridiculous. RB should have a much larger gap in the WC if he’s doing what he should be. He doesn’t even have the contract situation looming over his head to blame this atrocity on.

The only drivers I can remember constantly have issues on track is Mazepin and Maldonado but I’d say that is in their nature whereas Checo didn’t have this prolonged issue until the last year. I’d lean towards my previous thought that Max has beaten him to a pulp mentally and he’s trying to push himself too hard to keep up.
