I picked up a fake rolex in Pakistan for roughly 100 bucks and it's been working fine for the last 4-5 years. It's my daily while I keep my authentic ones in my box , ready for the next occasion. It's an automatic movement, too. I couldn't tell you the absolute specifics, but it keeps decent time. Honestly, since it's my daily wearing watch, I don't mind adjusting it once or twice a week. Sometimes I'll switch things up and wear a Luminox Valjoux.

I definitely don't bring my real watches anywhere too far from home or anywhere I would have to take it off. I didn't bring my real ones to Vegas for M fest, lol. I took my Luminox and this daily one.

I didn't read this whole thread so I'm not sure where most people's' opinion fell. My general position is quality over quantity any day. Shouldn't a fake watch receive the same derision a fake M3 receives on this forum? There are many ways to be a poser. More importantly, is the theft of intellectual property acceptable to those who buy fakes? Sure you can get your fake Rolex in a backwater like Pakistan or the streets of New York for $100 but it's the folks who get fooled into thinking they are buying the real thing who incur the most damage. Like the preying tactics of payday loan companies, there are many people on the planet without the acumen to do their due diligence on a purchase and the more crooks there are ripping off other's intellectual property the worse the market is for all of us. I just personally think wearing anything fake in an attempt to boost your ego or other people's opinion of you only speaks poorly about the person wearing the fakes of any item. Keeping up with the Joneses is no way to go through life and if you're wearing fake items like Rolex's or mortgaging your life to drive a BMW then you're all flash and no substance.

So your ego requires you have a Rolex-branded watch on your wrist to preserve your real Rolex watches? Why not just buy a cheaper real watch that respects intellectual property rights? Unless it's all about ego and image of course. In this case it sounds like its important for you to have people think you're wearing a real Rolex. Also, I've owned nice watches for years and wear one everyday. None of them are damaged. What exactly are all these fake watch owners doing while wearing a watch that makes them need a fake watch to protect the real one?

Additionally, I like your postings on other topics and your YouTube video is one of the reasons I bought an MPE. Not mad, just trying to make a valid point about fakes of anything and intellectual property rights. |

I apologize for the slight condescending tone I took in my rebuttals. It was nothing personal.

I know the idea you presented certainly is the driver for some folks, but I'm in no position to attribute that cause to them unless I have real proof. I'd just as soon not judge them for the faults and instead look for the strengths they have to offer. All the best.

Does anyone follow fakewatchbusta on Instagram? It's amazing how he calls out all the posers peasants with their fake watches. Lot of "baller" rappers in there, but also kids that drive Geo Metros but then have an AP watch.

The comments are especially entertaining. I think there's a recent entry about a plumber who literally spent a month and a half's worth of salary to buy a real Rolex after being called out on buying a fake one. I don't know whether to laugh or cry |

Some of the high end replica's are excellent quality. I have a decent collection of genuine watches but I own a replica Omega seamaster planet ocean and it has a swiss engraved ETA movement but I don't pass it off as real if I get quizzed.
However, I was working with this guy (a total bullshitter) and he has a Breitling Bentley on, I got a quick glimpse of this watch and asked for a look...clearly it was a fake...This guy then went into a whole story about how his wife bought this watch for him and how much it cost etc. and why he picked this one etc. I was sitting there...biting my tongue and in total disbelief that he was taking me for a fool!!! I just let him rattle on and left it at that....if someone feels the need to do this to himself and others...then leave them to it.

This always kills me. I was in Best Buy the other day looking at computers and the kid that was helping me was maybe 18, had on a ratty-ass pair of tennis shoes and a rep of a $20,000 ROO. Assuming he bought it to look rich, how many people does he think he is fooling?

That's really it. If such chicanery is what floats their boat, so be it. I won't care other than to know to take their comments with a grain of salt, that is provided I know the watch is a fake and they are passing it off as authentic. I have on one occasion had that happen in a conversation with someone. I happened to know the watch was a fake. I just told the person that the watch had a couple traits that seemed odd to me and I suggested they take it back to jeweler to confirm the authenticity. I also stated that fakes are so rampant these days, even jewelers can occasionally get misled when they buy watches from unusual/unfamiliar sources. I think he got the picture that I wasn't going to be taken, but I wanted to give him a way to save face as well. No point in making someone feel worse than they already do about themselves. All the best.

Hilarious video. Not sure if it's supposed to be a parody or not, but I'll just pretend that this guy actually really made a video of himself buying a watch, something from Louis Vuitton and then a nice dinner. The fact that he is wearing some of the most ill-fitting clothing I've ever seen, is wearing sunglasses and films himself buying something... tells me he's rather poor and probably should spend that money somewhere else.

It's a pitch to get people to buy into becoming a franchisee of real estate brokerage firm called rapid realty. I think the idea is that up and coming "ballers" and "shot callers" see Ricco as a blossoming young thirty thousandaire, er, I mean, multi-millionaire (Rolexes, Louis vuitton - or, as they charmingly call it "the looooey", and Armani restaurant?!) and they get duped into paying money for the "privilege" of working for them. |
