Thanks for looking it up. Just confirmed with my CA, who hadn't seen the bulletin yet and was wondering how I knew about all of this before he did lol.
Hoping I can get a loaner if it's going to be long wait...

My car was presented to me yesterday at the Welt.
Bad news - I was not allowed to take it with me. Good news - I have an Individual paint that has never before been on a BMW in the US and it is stunning! They did let me do a couple of victory laps and take it outside for some pics, but that was all. Had to hand back the keys and drive away in the 530d wagon. The wagon, fair enough is a lovely ride. Had a private tour today at the Regensburg plant. More info and pics when I get home next week. |

Just got off the phone with genius. Over 1000 vehicles have now been determined to be affected by the differential issue. Genius rep was unable to give an eta of a fix.

Master Yoda. I have been following your thread as I am in the exact same boat. I get my M4 presented to me Tuesday at 10:20am.
I have not been able to confirm my rental. Like you I asked for an M car to no avail. What time are you there? |

At least I can drive it a little and snap pics in and outside the welt. Also happy to see we will still get the Zoll plates.

Also got confirmation from BMW Genius tonight that after not being part of the initial 202 cars, my VIN is now listed in the 1,200+ cars affected.
I am pretty bummed, and little frustrated, right now. Ordered a 2016 MY car back in March for a presumed June delivery. Car got pushed back to late July delivery supposedly because of the XT1 dash. I was finally about 1 week from delivery. Now I am being told that the car will stay at the VPC in CA with no information whatsoever about when it will fixed and released. I asked the genius if we're talking days, weeks or months. He told me he had no information but that BMW doesn't currently have enough differentials on hand to fix all the cars affected... So we are probably talking weeks. By then, 2017 MY will be well underway and I will have a car that is brand new but already one model year old, and has therefore seriously depreciated. Again, not super happy right now. I sure hope BMW figures out a plan soon and takes care of its M customers. Make that repeat customers in my case... Rant over.

Seems like this is affecting US cars more than others. I have had 3 friends take delivery in the last 3 weeks of M2 and M4s and none of them had any issues.
We'll just have to wait and see. |

so the initial 202 cars are now 3,800 which makes sense especially that all the bad news that poor Mo had to deliver the other day.
Now what I am wondering, is if outside of the USA, they can give us our new car and we bring it in when the new part is available. I am hoping that is the case. Seems like alot of the cars that are already delivered and currently driving in the streets will also be recalled eventually. But it doesn't seem like it has any effect on Safety. If there wasnt the law in the USA that prohibited cars to be delivered, then I am sure most of the customers would have had their cars as well and then called back when new part are available. |
