Judging on how fast RUS was, if both the merc's didn't crash into eachother, Hammy getting 2nd place would have been a real option.
That would have put him only 12 points behind Checo.
With 5 races to go that would have been an easy gap to bridge looking at Checo's current performance.

Now the gap is 30 points. So Hammy now has to gain more than 6 pts per race.

Stewards were very mild for him. They should increase the penalty for repeat offenders. For example start with 5 seconds (handed down for 4 × track limits violation: B&W flag is shown after a third violation; 4th violation = penalty). Next time around double that to 10 seconds. Third time around either double that to 20 seconds or black flag the driver. In soccer, a second yellow card results in a send-off (red card).

True . That way you also control the possibility that exceeding track limits in possible situations may give more advantage than the 5sec penalty.
Don't know if that was at hand here, but now there's no control over that.

Today Checo tried more than 10 laps to overtake Stroll .I couldn't believe my eyes ..

Apparently lots of drivers have serious fatigue problems. (next to SAR having to retire)
Albon off to the medical center, Stroll almost passed out while getting out of the car, Ocon also threw up in his car....

The drivers (amongst Max) have said before that the amount of races is getting out of hand and presses on their personal life....
With extremely fatiguing locations like this (Qatar's contract has been signed for 10 years) and more sprint races, this protest can only get worse.
