I think we all knew this was coming, Porsche is being sued over the deaths. The wife is claiming they were actually only going 55 when car lost control and crashed.

That'll get settled out of court. I seriously doubt Porsche is to blame and this is an obvious money grab, but with our court system Porsche could end up with huge penalties. Threats of lawsuits have really become legal extortion in some cases.
Does this woman really expect full cages and fuel cells and fire extinguishers in all cars? Granted, that would make them safer, but also unaffordable by almost everyone. And if her husband was doing 55 and the car suffered a suspension failure, you would think it would have lost a good bit of speed before hitting the tree. That wreck was no 55mph or less crash. Tune in a few years from now for the results of the case.

You drive a real race car and there is little margin for error. You know that when you buy the car. It's driver error when he was speeding. Done deal. Hopefully this never makes it to trial because she will lose.

All I know in a car verses tree accident the tree usually wins ever time and the car loose. I seen accident where someone hit a phone pole, it snaps off and the police immediately assume the person was driving too fast but if you look at the car it not that damage, phone pole are dead and not as strong as a live tree and the fact the tree does not move means the car is taking all the damage unlike a phone pole. Also the wife is citing other accidents this car has been in where parts have failed and caused accidents. Earlier in this thread it was talked about how this car is notorious for putting drivers into bad situations. The wife is saying he husband was professional driver and as such knew how to handle a car and probably knew how to get out of bad situations, therefore, the only reason they crashed was due to the fact something broke. We will never find out how this plays out since it will be settle out of court since Porsche will never want the public to know what really happen. This is what a love about lawsuit like this. You know the wife is not interested in making sure others are not hurt if she was then she would let it go to court for the entire public to hear the truth, but she will take the money and run and will have gag order to never speak about it again. |
