Lots of respect for a very well played and hard fought tournament by South Africa. They came very close. Give them a ton of credit. They beat France, and almost qualified doing it. They were unable to advance, however, the nation should be very proud of their players.

And with that France finishes at the bottom of their group. Right where they belong. Kudos to South Africa, they put on a good performance and it's a shame it wasn't enough to put them through.

France sucks..les misrables...i also generally detest Italy because 1) they dive too much (everyone dives a bit); 2) too defensive; 3) take lots of cheap shots.

The problem with france is there is too many frenchmen on the team..nobody can stand a frenchman.

France is out since they didn't deserve to be there in the first place,... glad Mexico is in but kinda scared now it's going to face Argentina and Messi,... should be a good game maybe a revenge from 2006 but I see it very difficult for the Mexicans. Uruguay has it easy to go to Quarter Finals IMO.

Who would USA rather play.... Germany or Ghana... i say Ghana. But either way if you want to win the World Cup you gotta beat everyone. So what difference does it make? If Mexico can't beat Argentina then they were not the better team and would not have won the World Cup anyway. If USA can just play all 90 minutes like they do the second half of their games they could go pretty deep. But Bradley over coaches imho.

Wow that's pretty classless. Between the whole France debacle and Italy's strong showing of douchebaggery (not to mention the US non-goal controversy), has there been a more tumultuous WC before the elimination round in recent memory?
