1. Get a good pair of driving gloves - Gforce is good quality and inexpensive, Sparco is really good but costs a bit more.
2. Don't be afraid to use all of the track
3. When you get an instructor, it's good to be amiable, but definitely get your money's worth by asking a lot of questions
4. Technical tracks are actually good to learn on. Easy to feel vehicle dynamics and the result of inputs without necessarily hitting crazy speeds.

Other than that, 86 covered everything else.
