Agree. But I don't think it is the Asian market, it is specifically the Chinese market. I have seen zero evidence that the Japanese or Indian market is asking for these garish monstrosities.

I wonder if Tesla will cotton on?

Look how intolerant people treat other people on this forum.

Forums everywhere are interesting phenomenons. The people on any particular forum are usually fairly passionate about that forum. So it is like they are already charged up when they log on. Couple that with hiding behind a keyboard and misinterpretation by reading text (vs an actual conversation) and you have the recipe for the mudslinging.

It is unfortunate and I have found that it is virtually impossible to change opinions or educate via a forum (or even in real life)!

Particularly if facts are involved, they get in the way of opinion.

Grille is a straight deal killer for me. ..

It's a shame, because with exception to the grille, the car is pretty good looking.

It's just cartoonish, and looks like a half ass attempt to do something stylistically different/revolutionary.

My thoughts exactly and it's really disappointing as the performance will probably be very good. I don't think I could force myself to buy something that looked like this.

Yes, the numbers probably will be fine. But wow, if this is what the production car will look like, then anyone who drives it will be called a "Guido tool".

it's starting to sound a little derisive since the implication is clearly being cast that the Chinese have what the rest of us would consider terrible taste.

Google is your friend.
Thanks for this. I might point out that these articles are not evidence that Chinese want bigger grills, but quotes from auto designers justifying what they are doing. But the articles are helpful in proving the assertion that they are pandering to Chinese consumers who "want something more ostentatious".-

I just wish they found a way to visually communicate status that didn't look so fucking stupid

Yes, not only are they killing us with counterfeit medications and counterfeit fentanyl, they are killing us with their awful taste is design, style, cars, and quality. Again, good luck to us all!
You mean what British said about made in Germany 150 years ago, and what European said about American 100 years ago?

And regarding to bad taste, America share much with China... just look at the 80s...

Personally I think the E63 M6 is the best looking bmw of all time.

(No I don't own one either, but I will down the road).

It would have been "perfect", for the Griswolds.
