Things continue remain steady in the heartland. Northeasterners and west coasters tend to forget just how sprawled out we are and how hardly any of us take mass transit.

Are Arkansas or Oklahoma part of your heartland definition? Because they're both in danger of hitting exponential growth rates.

we live in a state full of evangelical, anti-intellectual rednecks.

At least now the gov is taking a "pause" in continuing to reopen more things. Maybe we should take a small rewind, not a pause. That's like the Peter Principle, we find the point where things get way worse, then stay there?

My finger is on the pulse of consumer and commercial AV sales in the northeast (VA to ME), and business is absolutely off the hook right now. EVERYONE is so busy their challenge is managing the volume of projects and having enough hardware and manpower. Managing success is a nice challenge to have to deal with.

Hey this is the encouraging signs thread. Here's one for you: the idiots are easier to identify now.

We are taking a (road trip) vacation in a couple of days. We may be sitting on our couch in Asheville more than we’d like, but at least it’s a different couch than FL. At least there are restaurants worth getting take out from there.

I will be working from home permanently thanks covid 19.
Picked up brand new monitors and pc tower from my office. Reimbursed for my desk and all of office necessities. Saving miles, X3 see no action any more. Spending more time with my toddlers. Working from home is challenging, i am engineer/dad full force diapers, potty, feeding kids, design plumbing, architects, zoom meetings so many things happening at once. The wife takes over when she gets home, i continue with work. I miss this forum. |

Same, my wife and I are going to our beach house in North Myrtle next weekend. We probably wont do much except for sit on the beach and get some take out but it will be nice to have a change of scenery.

Thankful that there was a brief window for elective surgeries (if you can call heart bypass an elective surgery) for my dad. Couple weeks either side and he wouldn’t have been able to get it. There’s going to be a big cost to closing off healthcare to non-covid illness that no one is talking about seriously yet.

Yesterday I got the results of Coronavirus antibody test:
Antibody IgM - doubtful result (it is recommended to repeat after 2-5 days), however, IgG is a positive result and this means that I have been ill with the coronavirus a long time ago and I have already developed antibodies. I suspect that I fell ill (almost asymptomatically) in mid-March. I don’t know if I should be happy or not? ))) |

Your case didn’t get ‘serious’, and you’re able to talk about it now. I’ve seen this virus ravage people.
