Agreed with this. I actually like to workout on an empty stomach myself.

I cant do it on heavy days though.

On normal back days- I won't push more than 315 DL and be able to do it on an empty stomach- but on days specifically designated for deadlifts and squats (maxing out at 475 deadlifts, and squatting 385) I HAVE to eat before. I'll feel like I'll pass out otherwise.

I'd rather not feel the preworkout but be able to push through, than feel like the weight is pushing me.

Right now I'm taking hyde with a couple of added caps of yohimbine. When I'm not cutting I'll use a mix of Jekyll and hyde, assault, or neurocore, or just straight hyde (Canadian formula without yohimbine).

Honestly a 315 deadlift would kill me lol. I could do it, but I have the most jacked-up case of sciatica right now. Bitchy, I know, but damn. I do dead lifts and feel like trash lately.

I am ready to get passed this...

I've been told that once you hit 30, you gain natural "man strength" whatever that's supposed to mean..
So being 27 and deadlifting 475, I expect to be in the 600 lb lift club by then

I'm hoping that living a healthy lifestyle (plus i dont drink or smoke) will making aging easier

ive been lifting weights since high school and have played various sports competitively but not so much anymore. skiing isnt much fun doing groomed stuff cuz of knees. playing softball kinda the same, im the type that cant hold back so invariably injure shoulder throwing too hard and knees running. ive aged well i think but things do take their toll. protect your joints is all i can say.

I've always used a mix of three things:

- 8oz cup of Illex Guayusa tea. Guayusa is a tree native to the upper Amazon. It contains the average amount of caffeine as a cup of coffee (80-110mg). Also, Guayusa is loaded with polyphenols, trace minerals and all 15 essential amino acids. For me personally it's offered a nice, smooth, not-too-jittery level of energy. Guayusa also contains theobromine, an xanthine alkaloid (found in cacao/chocolate) - a blood vessel widener and heart stimulant. It's been used by indigenous hunters of the Amazonian rainforest for ages.

- 2g of Cordyceps sinensis. A high altitude parasitic fungus that takes over species of ghost moths in the high altitude regions throughout Asia. They've been a staple of chinese medicine for ages. Cordyceps were also found to be used in the 1992 olympics, and soon thereafter banned due to their purported athletic enhancement. Cordyceps sinensis can greatly increase respiratory function, heart function, and most noticeably cellular oxygen uptake (by 40% in several studies). In my experience any form of strenuous activity - taking 2g 40 or so minutes before working out has greatly increased my overall output while reducing muscular fatigue. Im able to dig into my sets for longer periods of time.

- 4-5g of L-Arginine powder. An essential amino acid. It's found in alot of different foods, but many people supplement it in the multiple gram range through pure powder form. It's most prevalant effect is relaxing the blood vessel walls through the production of nitric oxide. This allows load to be taken off the heart, helping the various arteries, and also allowing more blood/nutrients to be shuttled to muscles during exercise pre/during/post; also visually - it greatly increases the 'pump' you get during an intense bout of exercise also. Another effect that's been noted is the increased removal of waste products from the kidneys through continual supplementation.

These 3 supplements i've taken for a number of years. They've never failed to deliver as far as a solid, linear bosot in performance goes. Im not a huge proponent of the high sugar, high filler, high caffeine/stimulant content of most pre workout supplements, as in the long run those aren't too positive for the body.

Ive recently started taking ON preworkout. Not bad, decent energy, and no jitteriness. Hence does not turn you into an animal. But at least I can sleep at night.

On days I lift I take C4.

On cardio days I take Optimum Nutrition Amino Energy. It keeps me focused on my run and for some reason makes it less agonizing. xP
