I'm saying they may have left the top open a time or two and got rained on. Leather gets wavy like that when it's been wet.

What do you mean "wavy" can you be more specific?

You see how the pic you posted the leather looks like a sad guy at the beginning of a viagra commercial?

This guy is coming up on hour 4 and is starting to look up his doctor's phone number.

You'd be surprised. I saw an E92 M3 will a rolled back VIN. That car had no less that 70k miles and the ODO said 14k. Fresh brakes and tires on all four corners, BMW emblem was peeling, paint was heavily swirled/knicked, interior was far from mint, oil cap smelled to be burnt, etc. Gotta love cars that come out of NJ.

I'm just saying, dude. You came to OP to ask about buying a car. That's like going to a strip club for marriage counseling.

I haven't looked into an E92, and don't really plan on it. That said, I know older older M cars have engine issues as miles climb up. There are a lot of threads on the e92 section for potential problems or Used car buying guides.

Leather gets wrinkly or "wavy" like that from 3 possible things; heavy compression, heating and cooling, and water. The adhesive used to join the leather to the pad wears out, causing it to lift and become wavy and shit.

If excessive water were in the cabin at some time, some of the components under the seat may have water damage. Can't really confirm that unless you see it. Also, electronics get shoddy. Again, can't really confirm until you actually see if everything works (seats, massage, heaters, knobs, buttons, stereo, door pins, keyless, HID, etc).

It's a sports car, so the transmission isn't gonna be the smoothest. But, it shouldn't feel like gears are being forced in...especially at lower gears,

Engine shouldn't have any whirring or knocking or weird sounds. Check how clean the oil is. See if you can find any signs of repair or tampering.

This in all honesty does not help a young lad. Nor does it show the driver/passenger seat.

So the leather from the pictures look like shit? I can't imagine any red leather would look like it's in that great condition considering it's red and flaws are easier to see.

Owner is also second owner - starting to think miles were rolled back

Hell no. That thing was fucked. They had another E92M that I was interested in. Looked to be ok. When I asked to drive it, they told me they don't let people test drive their M cars. I said, "Well, sir, you can fucking keep it." Assholes.

What the actual fuck does this have anything to do with the 08 M3 I now want to buy? You have contributed absolutely nothing to my thread - which is okay.

penis wrinkles = your pic = bad
boner pills = my pic = good

Try to keep up with the metaphor.

Red leather looks like shit. But red leather is like brown leather shoes. They will look like shit unless you keep them polished and clean. Leather is probably dirty and needs a spiffing up.

Just because 2nd owner, doesn't mean it's miles are too low. People baby these things, trying to keep miles low. Probably was a low mile lease that someone bought.

Get service/car history if you want more information.
