The Celtics have outplayed them pretty much this entire series. Even the announcers thought the Lakers were lucky to win. This ends in Game 6. Enjoy this win California.

I just had my numbers mixed up, the result was the same. The series couldve been won by now if they kept up their hard nose first half play instead of rolling over in the second half of all those games. |

Let's take a huge breather for game 5. Congratz to our boys for putting up a fight against them Boston boys, but let's remind ourselves that we ALMOST let them get away with it (House's 3 point, and almost turnover in bound pass). Not to mention the *ahem ahem* steal in the last minutes.
I have some questions of my own in regards to some management decisions during the game. Playing Chris Mihm at the start of 2nd quarter? Don't get me wrong, I like the guy, but are you seriously thinking that he'll contribute to the team by having to sit on the bench for the whole season? Regardless of his physical abilities, his mental state is definitely not at par if compared to the other players that have been getting more minutes! Great decision on pulling Sasha in the 4th. He was way too cold to be shooting those long bombers. I think attacking the basket like Farmar did with his quickness was a good relief for the Lakers when our MACHINE is running low on batteries. Poor free throw shooting. I'm telling you, it is a contagious plague. When Kobe starts missing his FTs, then Fish, then the whole team eats it. Props to Gasol & Odom, though the game was played a little bit sloppy, their determination and heart took us to the W. Lakers in 7!

Or for at least one more game.....
I dont think anyone including myself is trying to use that in any way as an excuse for the Lakers poor play thus far, but I mean come on....they're supposed to be a bunch of professionals but they act like a bunch of 6 year olds on the playground. And we're not even talking about someone on the court.....it's the damn bench doing it......Annoying to say the least

Just Hold Me!
..More like lucky play. Lucky there was no call made. This is clearly a reaching in foul.

Anyone who thinks that either Pierce, Garnett or Allen would throw a game to win at home is crazy!?!? The Lakers haven't been playing well at all this series except maybe game 3. We can make all the excuses we want for our Lakers but bottom line is every game they lost was due to their lack of aggression. I'm still rooting for my Lakers though, the pressure is on the Celtics to win this series. Though Kobe hasn't been playing well he is a Champion and I think if they can make it to game 7 it'll get VERY interesting. ;-)

Good analysis and I agree with everything except Gasol. Gasol, for the most part, played like a punk. Although I will admit he got a key rebound or two (and a couple of post moves on Garnett), too often he was getting rebounds knocked out of his hands and not making strong moves to the hole. He's 7 feet tall and plays like a soft small forward. He's like Nowitzki without the mean streak or the jumper. Twice he had smaller men pinned under the rim and he didn't punish them. Once it was Ray Allen. The second time it was Sam Cassell. Sam Frickin' Cassell! If that was Shaq he would have dunked so hard on Cassell that Sam would have retired on the spot. Instead Gasol tries a flip shot that gets blocked away (with a foul call). He's 7 feet tall, he should be two-hand power dunking on people not shooting flip shots. Two-hand power dunks send a message. The only message Gasol is sending is "I am soft". It's like someone snuck a "punk me" sign to the back of his jersey. And, did you see how frustrated he gets when PJ Brown pushes him around a little bit? At least now we know how to beat Spain in the Olympics. |
