If you take out homicides by illegally owned guns, illegal immigrants, people with a criminal past, severe mental health, etc. The average legal gun owner is EXTREMLY responsible and the stats are VERY low for homicides. When you plump the good guys together with the bad guys what do you think the outcome will look like?

You are talking about the percentage difference correct? Would you mind citing your sources?

The 1st thing I would say is in general we are an aggressive society. From how we drive, interact, function, etc. I would ague being aggressive has enabled us to be world leaders and succeed.

Please note that we are not allowed to talk about politics and race on this forum. I believe we would need to get into both to accurately have this discussion about homicide and why it is high in the States based on facts. We may want to just move on to another topic.

Even with that "terrible" gunland of Chicago, Illinois still had a lower homicide rate than 35 other states (NY lower than all but 2 states)(2019).

I won't list the states with the highest homicide rates, but you can guess what type of gun "politics" dominate in them.

if you go to homicides, Illionois is ranked in the top 15.

Ya, I actually sat through the 1 hr+ police cam video. The cop who shook his hand in the end must be having nightmares besides the other LEOs.

They did what they should have. Brian was the only one with signs of abuse, scratches on face and arm, and gabby even said she hit him. He wasnt pressing charges so the right course of action is to separate them and let them cool off.

Sure, hindsight is 20/20 but unfortunately the cops didn't pick up on signs from both of them; they can always do better. They were kinda biased in a way w probably 90% of the interaction w the male getting his pov mostly. They also failed to catch him on the cellphone lie and didn't catch his reaction when told they determined that he was the victim. Yes, yes, again 20/20 but this at least could be used as an exercise in training future cops.


Sadly, she didn't help matters defending him/admitting hitting him, etc, thereby muddying the situation. I think these cops do need better awareness, it's not their fault they were not equipped so some training is needed for these situations and also when dealing w those who are mentally-challenged. For example, why would they tell an obviously deranged/upset female to drive alone? Why not tell her to call someone to pick her up or meet up, if possible?
