It exists for the previous X1, if it only would be made for the U11 🙏

Would you build this in your X1?

I'd imagine he's just wishing for a center console box - obviously with the fixed armrest it couldn't work ... heck I even tried to fit a tissue box cover under there and it was too tall to clear

Anybody try this center console insert bag thing? I’d prefer an actual cover, but it might be viable. I don’t know. My car isn’t expected to finish production until next week, so I haven’t bought one to test it out.

precisely, just some useful covered storage space, since new cars don't even have the small drawer next to the steering wheel. i have to be very selective with the center arm shallow storage space... one pocket knife, garage remote, small moisturizing cream, roof bar keys, electric charging card, one pen and that's about it i'll still try to put the small flashlight there (1xAAA size)

You said it… I’ve got a pen, pocket knive, and I can fit earbuds and a micro lens cloth to wipe the smudges off the screen in there and that’s it

I really miss the side box by the steering wheel too I had in all my x3 and x5s but even the new x3 did away with it too - shame it was perfect for CCW

May be tough but can you snap some pics under the car? So what part of the exhaust was rebuilt? With the parts you mention it sounds like it wasn’t a simple cut the resonator out and replace kind of thing was it?

Leaning towards a catless downpipe myself to start with and see from there but like you said in your other thread, that hasn’t been easy to find…

My friend, this photo is pics under the car. The car was also up on the lift at the time of this photo. I won't be able to take a better photo. If it's not in this picture, it wasn't modified.

In this picture is everything that was rebuilt. I wish i would have taken a before photo of it up on the lift. But you'll have to slide under the ass end of your car and compare the two. This was far more than a resonator delete. I provided all the parts to the exhaust shop (again... the muffler and several mandrel bent elbows and two Y-splitters) and the labor alone was 4-5 hours and $600 - with an exhaust tech that had been doing this for 30 years. So with parts cost I spent $800 on what would cost twice that it you bought it ready to go. And it doesn't even exist yet. And honestly may never! Nobody is rushing to make anything aftermarket for this car.

I think a catless downpipe would be a good move - but as far as raw sound goes... The stock muffler is absolutely terrible. I'm not sure you can get an improvement with it in place.

And I just learned today that the video I recorded of the exhaust -- the exhaust valve NEVER opened in Sport mode. So the video is 100% through the muffler. Which sounds GREAT but Im pissed off the valve hasn't opened. I think it only opens under WOT or something. I emailed BMW to ask them. But it hasn't opened yet while in park.

I’m sure it’s different on every model but I know on my 2018 M2 valve opens at 4k+ RPM or greater than like half throttle.

But I use a bypass that forces it open when I want that (although they sell different options, depending what you’re looking for in terms of configuration). It can be programmed to work with the garage door opener buttons. Have to see if it works with our cars(I assume it is the same exhaust valve controller so it should but will need to confirm.

Here’s a link to the one I use: https://www.cgprecision.com/#!/VSC-1...pra/p/34785167

Thank for the info, I don't feel as crazy now! For the first time I went to the tailpipes and I for sure was not feeling exhaust flow out of the valved side. I will for sure look into your bypass, now that I know that sport mode alone doesn't open it.

Here's a link to the picture of the exhaust. That's wild that the embedded link isn't displaying it for you:

Yes, there's a custom build bag on several chinese sites. If nothing else more "solid" comes up I might try it, but a bag always calls for attention of burglars...

So does a bunch of clearly visible items though too. I think the bag might be a viable option because the black might blend in pretty well if I swap the yellow zipper pull cords for black ones.

I don’t keep a ton of stuff in the center console of my current car - like an old pair of prescription glasses+sunglasses in case something happens to mine, a small notebook + pen, a small lint roller, a roll of pet waste bags (great for when you might need a small trash bag), and a fold-up reuseable bag. I guess maybe some stuff can get crammed into the glove compartment and the rest will go in the door pocket (if I can’t find a better solution to the lack of enclosed *******.

The bag is possible the best solution.

I have for several month ask de BMW licentie upholster and later the German guy of the inlays cupholder for a solution to close the opening with a cover. Both said it is not realistic and practical.

Some things are now in the middle armrest and in the dashcompartment. Keys in my trousers.

It's now for me/us no issue anymore

Before making formal for sale posts, is anyone interested in a JB4 for our cars?

Only used this for a couple of months, it is the GEN3 B48 compatible JB4 with the Bluetooth module to be able to view and control it from your phone or tablet. They also provided me a special wire harness that fits better for cars with our transverse engine configuration and without the fuel rail sensor which is apparently not needed.

https://burgertuning.com/products/bm...gen3-jb4-tuner

It works perfectly well and is in great condition. Only selling because the M35 platform seems to already be tuned up quite a bit and this doesn’t help as much as I was hoping in terms of making more power. The 28i and 28i X Drive x1 and X2 (U11 and U10, 2023+) should benefit a lot more from this as they are tuned less agggresively from factory, leaving more performance on the table.

Original price is $848. I’m asking $500 plus shipping firm within the lower 48. DM me if interested.

Here is my DIY install: https://u11.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=2132193
