I believe through reading on here somewhere that they are concentrating on the PHEV’s and EV’s. Probably due to having to meet their emissions targets.

Hi Haz87 welcome. What model / engine etc. have you ordered.
There are some members from Scotland not sure what dealer thought. Seems all too common that dealers can't get orders register in with BMW and get allocation at the moment unfortunately. |

So we finally took delivery of our i20 M Sport in Storm bay on Thursday.
General notes: - took exactly 11 weeks from day of order to delivery. Cars seem to be coming through, as my dealer had 4 of them standing there, 2 of them available as cancelled orders. - it was easy to follow up with Genius on the progress at any given time - car was built in May and came with the new iDrive 9 - It appears I was lucky to have picked it up on Thursday, as there has been a price increase coming through on Friday or Saturday. While the dealer would have honoured the original price it would have pushed me into the 40k + bracket for tax purposes, meaning I would have had to fork out almost £2k extra in tax over 5 years. Glad I won't have to. Going forward it seems any M Sport will push you into the higher tax bracket, which might turn a few people off it. Might be good for future resale value. - Insurance wasn't as bad as I imagined, £420 fully comp with £250 excess, covering 2 drivers for 15k miles a year First impressions: - Car came with decent Pirelli tires. Pirelli's are generally not my first choice, but so far they seem to be good - Adaptive Suspension with 19' wheels makes for a comfortable ride, even on uneven roads. This was an area of concern to me after reading some negatives on it, but thankfully not an Issue for me so far. -Storm Bay is a lovely colour. Looks very different from different angles and in different light. From some angles it looks matt, from others it looks metallic. When I picked it up it was parked beside a white and a black one, and it looked for more distinctive. Said that, have now seen a Space Silver one, and that looks fantastic as well. - I have so far not experienced an Issue with the auto start stop or the lag to get away, as reported by others. - iDrive 9 seems to be good so far, but I am unable to get Android Auto working. Tried with 3 different phones, but have been unable to connect any, be it wireless or by cable.. Went back to BMW to see if I was missing something, but they were stuck as well. Booked in now to have Software reinstalled to see if that fixes the Issue. - Love the digital cockpit, but wouldn't mind if it was slightly more configurable beyond the default settings - I find the cabin very comfortable with very little road noise. Wasn't sure initially about the sport seats, as I am on the slightly larger side, but not an Issue. But if I gained another stone it might be a different story. - The M Sport comes with the kick to open feature as standard. Seems some people weren't sure about that or BMW had temporarily removed it at some point. - My wife thinks it would llok even better with the black grille, so might have to get it changed for her. If you're willing to take a chance, AliExpress has some aftermarket grills for less than $150US.

That link is in dollars which equates to about £340 so dealer was looking at £100+ for fitting.
Best bet for OP is ring the dealer and see what they can do for him. Or check out this aftermarket one. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/385668110...Bk9SR_Db4e-ZYg Last edited by Tunners; 06-18-2023 at 09:53 AM.. Reason: Add link |

Interested to know how others are getting on with their ICE models in the UK with an updated build slot and timeline.
I ordered a 23i M-sport model at the end of Feb, with an update from the dealer at the end of May to say we now had a provisional build slot and to expect delivery in November. Are others with similar models seeing the same sort of timeline? |

Just took delivery of mine, happened to get lucky and snag one inbound that was literally exactly what I wanted build wise, even down to the M Suspension delete.

So, my X1 I ordered in March last year is finally at the dealer. We checked with the BMW Genius on Friday and informed it was at the dealer (may have arrived earlier). Had a voicemail from the dealer today saying that we were on track to pick the car up by mid March. I’ve not been able to speak to them as they’re closed.
Just querying if this has been the turnaround time from the dealer people have experienced? I’ve ordered new BMW’s and I’m sure the turnaround has been far quicker. Essentially, the car will have been at the dealer for over 3 weeks before I can collect. Does this sound normal before I query this tomorrow? It will be on a UK 24 plate, but surely this wouldn’t hold it up by 3 weeks? |
