You guys use bullets? I'd just go with RDX or maybe an incendiary device so you can cook/eat it on the spot

That 7mm is no joke. A friend took that hog hunting the last time we went. He was about 300yds away from me when he fired and it sounded and felt like he was about 25ys away from me. By the time we could do some real inspecting, it was a bit dark but we couldn't find an entry or exit wound. We decided the sound and percussion is what killed it. haha

I was shooting .300blk out of a 10" AR and we actually found the bullet when cleaning my hog.

What i meant was, why is your ACOG mounted to your rifle at home when you would clearly not need it in a HD situation? Does it not make more sense to keep it unmounted at home and mount it when you go to the range?

^^^I learned to deer hunt with a 7mm rifle and the punch is pretty wicked. Great round for decent sized game, though. Probably a bit overkill for feral hogs, lol

Yes, he mentioned that he didn't enjoy zeroing his optic. And i didn't appreciate having to drag that 260 pound hog from the middle of the woods to the closest trail. Damn thing just collapsed where it was standing. If it would have run in any direction, it would have gotten itself closer to an ATV trail. lol

Yes I should clarify I have a handgun for HD primarily in a biometric safe. The rifle isn't quickly accessed but I was thinking better to have redundant things on it. But since completing it I have built a colt AR with only iron sights so neither is really in NEED of anything. AR isn't the best HD choice anyway at the time I was thinking BUIS in the unlikely chance I'd need them

It's been kinda self-censored so far. I'm not OG enough to know the mods thoughts on it, every car forum I've been on talks about the pew pews no problem.

There used to be a firearms section then the admins decided to delete it.

We've collectively unofficially decided it's best not to post pics of actual firearms. I mean after all it is wrong to post pics of any sport and hobby equipment

I think we've all collectively agreed to not make a big deal about the thread and continue on as if it's all normal.

I think that's overkill. Chances are, you probably won't even have time to look through the sight in a CQB situation.

To be fair, I've gotten away quite a few times posting pics of pew pews since the "law" was established.

I also shoot .300 Blackout. I did some ammo testing the other day, and the Lehigh Defense 194gr Subsonic Maximum Expansion performed flawlessly. I love how quiet the subsonic rounds are with my can-- so much more pleasant to shoot.

Being loud is scary to others as well. Just walk in anywhere and rack your shotgun people will take notice of you and show respect?
