But when the car came in, they actually found that it had an open software recall as well, so reprogramming took care of all of it together. I had the same remote start engine malfunction that some others have had, but that somehow cleared itself on its own. Not sure what happened there, but I have not seen it in a number of weeks even way before this update.

If you're referring to the main menu on the left for media and navigation or the default options on the left hand screen, then I don't believe they are able to be reordered. I think you just scroll through them.

Any chance the unlock button could have been held depressed in a pocket or purse? When you hold the unlock button down steadily, the windows will roll down. This happened to my wife when her key was in her overloaded purse.

I had the same reach issues. I put the driver seat so far back because I am tall. So I got a touch screen wand which makes it easier when I don’t want to lean forward. They definitely need an Idrive controller but this makes it more bearable now.

Good to know. It’s totally possible that the button was pressed in my pocket. I’m going to try to replicate it to make sure that’s what it may have been.

Finally got the car back, so the skipping out has seemed to go away, but other things have shown up in this 11.2023.58 update
I have an issue where CarPlay will connect but now I need to turn the car off and on to get it to play a song. It will show the play button then I click it, then it plays for 1/2 a second then stops and I have to keep repressing play. Also getting a constant front collision detection warning when stopped at lights, I have a feeling this could be the license plate mount though. |

Ps - if this is a solution you want to pursue you will have to get one that fits your fob. No one size fits all… https://www.shopbmwusa.com/product/1...KEY-CASE-BLACK |

I have a new issue. My dog sets off the anti theft alarm when left in the car. I found some info online about pressing the lock button on the fob within 10 seconds of locking but that hasn’t worked. I don’t get any feedback from the car telling me I’ve disarmed the motion sensor like the internet says I will.
Anyone know the answer to this? |

Yeah in other BMWs and certainly the ID8 ones you lock the car then press again to turn off the internal sensors. I think the flashing light at the front also changes or stops can't remember exactly. But it does work, I take it that is what you have tried?

That's what the manual says but it also mentions an option to turn off the motion sensor on the display. Not sure how that works if you're already outside of the locked vehicle unless that's an alternate method of disabling the motion sensor?

Had my X1 just over a week now.
Loving it, but come across a few ID.9 bugs already. Most annoying being shortcuts being unavailable. They do show as being there, but they’re dark and says ‘unavailable’ when try to click them. Reset ID and logged out etc without any luck. Any suggestions? |

My spouse just did an 800 mile round trip. On the way back the HUD display wasn't visible. I thought maybe the setting had been disabled but it was enabled.
I tried using my key/profile and the HUD was not available. I did the 30 second reboot and the HUD reappeared for both of us. Go figure.

Lots of threads about very similar ID9 issues that everyone is creating. Some help in here for some but probably a good idea to use one thread that create a new one each time.
It’s buggy, very buggy and even with the very latest 03/2024 updates STILL bugs, maybe get it right in 25 BMW. |

There must be a different version of iD9 for the 35i, the latest one that I see on app is 11/2023.64 which does not solve any issues that I can tell, I did notice my HUD gets dim randomly.

Picked up my MY24 Z28 I with ID9 this week. So far I've had these issues:
Overall, I freaking love the car (coming from a 2020 VW GLI)...but the software is a hot mess right now. Totally not what I was expecting from BMW. I can only hope ID9 improves as we go on... Oh, I have 11/2023.30 as the version. Last edited by guppy; 03-25-2024 at 05:53 PM.. |

Yikes it seems to be getting worse with updates not better, really think that BMW should be getting some good testers / plans when they try and put fixes in so things don't get worse.

IDrive 9 Version
My car is booked in with my dealer to look at the issues I’m still experiencing with iDrive 9. The least I’m expecting is the car to be updated to the latest version. To that end… does any one know what the latest release number is? I’m currently on 07/2023.72.
TIA 🙏 |
