I’ve read a few of these chat strings. Can’t be certain if real. But if these were the ones considered in the investigation, they are real. They would have confirmed authenticity before considering them in investigation. And if they are real, Horner is gone. There isn’t enough to fire him for cause, but he can’t continue. He would be too weakened. And I’m sure he knows it also. I think they have a buyout of his contract agreed on tonight. I’d bet 5$ he isn’t on the wall for Friday. Poor Christian. What a dumbass. IF these are real…..

Except nobody hires with a blind eye. You meet candidates in person. And your visual assessment has a massive influence in the hiring decision. People of colour, with visible disabilities, ugly, non-gender conforming, fat, short, too tall, with accents, etc, will be picked last if at all.

Diversity means deliberately hiring people with the characteristics listed above, and mentoring, training and making them aces. And often times they already are aces.

No excellence always wins, if that is not diverse enough then some people are not trying hard enough. Diversity as a guiding philosophy breeds mediocrity. I've hired a good number of people in my days but I have never hired one who was not expected to be the best at the job. My companies, over the years have been hired for one reason and one reason only, the expectations that we are going to do a good job not that we met some quota.

I get that...but, I wouldn't hire in hopes of making an ace if I already have one.

Simplistic example...two tire changers different races. One is constantly 0.2 second faster...I'm hiring the fastest guy. Could the other be trained up and possibly faster? Yes, but the season is short and I don't have time to waste.

Sometimes diversity can't be forced....
