11/2023.73 OTA update now showing in my X1 with OS9.

Had my car in to the dealer over the weekend to get the software updated. Now on 03/2024.3(something). Can’t remember the exact version and isn’t showing in my app yet.

Had two long phone calls without any CarPlay connection issues which is a great thing since it was previously dropping every call before the update.

I wish I could understand why some of us are getting 11.23.73 and others are getting 3.24.3

The 2024 release you might get if you go to the dealer to resolve an issue, but not OTA (Or highly unlikely). OTA always runs 3-6 months behind the dealer available release thus why many are just getting the 11/23 release now.

Try searching in the Remote Software Upgrade settings and see if 03/2024.30 is available after you update.

Just got the upgrade this evening, as of now I can’t tell any immediate difference, I took it for a short drive to the store and had to reconnect the phone to the car, I noticed all my settings stayed intact except for the gauge cluster.

I did notice that the settings for content inside the gauge cluster has changed, there’s a compass mode, and now you can psssively have navigation map in the gauge cluster even if not actively using it.

Will tinker more during the warm up in the garage tomorrow am.

I will say since the last dealer visit the car has been behaving rather well, still CarPlay skipping out for a split second here and there but nothing nearly as bad as before.

I have yet to make a phone call either but we’ll see tomorrow.

Installed the 03/2024.30 update today after being notified on the Mobile App. Haven't noticed any changes except my and spouse's shortcuts were rearranged. It almost appears that the ones on top were flipped to the bottom.

So I noticed that the live content looks slightly different.

Also noticed when I park in the garage, the gauge cluster shows the parking radar, never used to do that before, would just stay the setting I had selected.

I haven’t noticed boot up being faster, when I got in after work. I usually remote start in the am so it’s on by the time I get in.

Also unsure if this is an isolated case but I did notice since the 11.2023.6X dealer installed update, the trip menu on the gauge cluster never matches up with the app, before it would be within a similar range but now the car shows I do 24-25mpg since last refuel, used to be about 28-30.

I did notice I can no longer access shortcuts from an Apple CarPlay screen. It has to be the idrive menu or Home Screen.

Will try a reset tomorrow am.

Pretty over it at this point and kind of just treating the car as a grocery getter these days.

I think you are the first one to get 3/2024 OTA. What was your previous version? I just installed 11/2023.73

I got notified for 03/2024.30 yesterday on my UK 2024 X1 M35i from 11/2023.64

11/2023.58 which was dealer updated on 2/20/2024

So after a reset the shortcuts have returned to all screens. As someone mentioned above They did get rearranged.

Another observation is my fuel tank for the first time went above 400miles after a full up. I don’t know if the gauge cluster didn’t register it or who knows but that was a nice surprise. Normally a fill up shows 380ish miles.

I have a 2024 X1 with OS 9. But the navigation doesn't speak, no matter what language I choose, the voice guidance option is still "greyed out" and the system says: your language is not supported. Same with Personal Assistant, it doesn't work in any language. Do you have this problem too?

The car is a month old, the dealership completely reinstalled the software, but it's still the same. We purposely looked into all the new X1 and X2 at the dealership, and it's the same everywhere, voice prompts don't work. Thanks for any insight ...

PS. I have no Auto/Stop deactivation button abywhere in system .... its normal?

Yep, I think there's no dedicated button to disable Auto Start Stop in the system in case of MHEVs/PHEVs. However it should be possible to deactivate it if transmission is put into in M/S/L mode or SPORT driving mode is selected or some other conditions are met (eg. engine not warmed up enough).

I’ve started the OTA update 03/2024.30 process but getting the following when attempting the install. I’ve checked and nothing is plugged into the OBD port (having finally found out what and where it was).

Any ideas? Is there more than one OBD port to check?

Sounds like system detects an On Board Diagnostic devise plugged in

I visited the dealer today to try and get my Drive Recorder fixed, the function just vanished after working fine for a couple of months.

I did get an OTA upgrade to 11/2023.73 last week which solved some issues, such as lag and the horrendous boot times but not Drive Recorder.

They have now installed 03/2024.30 and said I should reset the app and log back in again. The interface still boots quickly and navigating it feels smoother, some menus have changed slightly but not noticed anything new.

However still no Drive Recorder, they said it might take time for everything to sync, the app still thinks I am on the previous version, we shall see.

Drive Recorder aside the update is night and day to what I had previously and will hopefully take the frustration away.

Worth noting that with the software update, you very likely need to go back into all the permissions menus and allow everything again. My stuff relating to drive recorder and most other things was not on after the updates, I had to re-accept.

I systematically do a factory reset after every update. The potential for bugs is quite high with iDrive 9 it seems.
